Elizabeth Jane Leach, 78, of Holton passed away at 7:10 a.m., Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at her home. She was born near Rexville on November 26, 1946, the daughter of John and Ethel Farrell Hoffmeier. She was married to Phillip Leach on December 15, 1963 and he preceded her in death on August 21, 2015. Survivors include one son Edgar Leach of Madison; two daughters Phyllis Hodapp (Jeff Smith) of Versailles and Tonya Fields (Matt Mosier) of Dabney; five grandchildren Crystal (Justin) Greathouse, Daniel (Nickiea) Leach, April (Landon) Svatba, Megan Hodapp, and Blake (Alysa Heath) Leach; great-grandchildren Lily, Laine, Karsyn, Chase, Tori, Nova, Shelby, and Jayda; great-great-grandchildren Kayson and Oakland; one sister Gladys Hoffmeier of Madison. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her sister Alice Berry. Mrs. Leach was a former employee of US Shoe in Osgood, but her mainstay in life was being Mom and Grandma. She enjoyed tending to her flowers and attending bingo at St. Mary’s in North Vernon. Jane was a member of the West Fork Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m., Monday, January 13 at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Johnny Lohrum officiating. Burial will be in the Grandview Memorial Garden near Madison. Visitation will also be on Monday beginning at 10 a.m. Memorials may be given to the Holton Fire Department in care of the funeral home. |
